CRICKET and in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League Premier Division Hem Heath beat Elworth by 24 runs and Leek won by 7 runs at home to Audley.

In Division 1, Burslem beat Ashcombe Park by 3 wickets and both Sandbach and Knpersley chased down big targets to gain creditable draws.

In Division 2 Alsager beat Sandyford by 54 runs but Oakamoor lost out to Moddershall & Oulton by 38 runs.

In Division 1 Macclesfield beat high flying Sale by 4 wickets, but Congleton suffered a heavy home defeat losing by 9 wickets to top of the table Bowden.
