WEIR JOINS ON LOAN, CONLON LEAVES ON PERMANENT TRANSFER
PORT Vale have announced the loan signing of Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder, Jensen Weir.
The loan deal will see the 21-year-old remain with the Valiants for the remainder of the 2023/24 Sky Bet League One season.
The attacking midfielder has spent the first half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Blackpool following a fruitful campaign on loan at then League One side, Morecambe, where he scored ten goals across all competitions.
Weir began his career at Wigan Athletic before making the move to Brighton and Hove Albion in 2020, aged 18, and has since been capped at international level for both England and Scotland at all age groups from U16s to U20s.
Meanwhile, Port Vale have confirmed that midfielder Tom Conlon has joined Oldham Athletic on a permanent transfer.
The 27-year-old joined the Valiants in July 2018 and would go on to make 183 appearances across six seasons in the Black and White of Port Vale scoring on 20 occasions, assisting on 24.
Despite injury bringing an unfortunate early end to his 2021/22 season, Tom played a vocal role in the promotion-winning campaign and lifted the play-off trophy alongside then vice-captain Tom Pett at Wembley Stadium.
