Young people celebrated on A-Level results day

Thousands of young people in Staffordshire will be getting their A-Level results today (Thursday), after the first in-person exams for two years.

Exams over the past two years were cancelled due to Covid-19, with grades based on teacher assessments and coursework.

This year, students followed the more traditional in-person exams over the summer and will be nervously awaiting their results today.

It is the first year that T-Level results—which are more technical qualifications—are being awarded.

Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education Jonathan Price said: “Thousands of young people across the county will be receiving their A and T Level results today, and getting ready to take that next important step in their lives.

“Whether they are intending to go to college, university, or entering the world of work, there are so many options open to young people, no matter what their results may be.

“I want to congratulate every single young person in Staffordshire who is receiving their results today. The last two years have been particularly challenging in schools and colleges, and today is the culmination of their resilience and hard work. Even if the results are not what they expected, they should still be very proud of what they have achieved over the past two years.”
